2024 LEGISLATIVE SCORECARD
Welcome to the CT Votes for Animals 2024 Legislative Scorecard for the Animals. This scorecard constitutes a record of how CT State Legislators voted on key animal-related bills during the 2024 legislative session. The bills included are those that CVA identified as priority or believed would significantly impact animals in our state.
2024 was a year of determined advocacy and solid defense. We gained significant momentum and are hopeful moving into the 2025 session. We would not have been able to achieve all that we did without the unconditional support of animal advocates all across the state.
The Scorecard is comprised of two categories: 2024 Wins for the Animals – bills with a positive impact on animals that passed and bills that would negatively impact animals that were stopped; Unfinished Business – priority bills that CVA championed that were almost passed but for one reason or another did not. Not all animal-related bills introduced in the legislature are included in the Scorecard. Rather, it contains only bills that were voted on and those that CVA considered priorities.
